Terms of Service

This master Terms of Service replaces earlier Timezone terms published on the hosting endpoint and linked from arcteligentlabs.com. Related privacy practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Timezone by Arcteligent (the “Service” or “Bot”), operated by Arcteligent (“we,” “us”). By inviting, installing, accessing, or using the Service on Discord, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

Timezone is a Discord application that provides timezone clocks, scheduling helpers (alarms, reminders, events), morning digests, presets, an in-Discord control panel (buttons/menus), and related features. Features may change, be limited by plan (Free vs Pro), or be discontinued.

3. Eligibility and Discord rules

• You must comply with Discord’s Terms of Service, Community Guidelines, and Developer policies.
• You must be old enough to use Discord in your region.
• If you add the Bot to a Server, you represent that you have permission to do so and to authorize processing of Server-related data described in our Privacy Policy.

4. Accounts and access

Access is through Discord. We do not provide separate Timezone user accounts. You are responsible for activity performed with your Discord account and for Server permissions granted to the Bot.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Abuse, overload, or disrupt the Service or Discord (including excessive automated commands/button spam or attempts to bypass rate limits or plan limits)
• Use the Service for unlawful, harassing, fraudulent, or harmful purposes
• Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit, or gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users’ data
• Misrepresent affiliation with Arcteligent or Discord
• Use the Service in a way that violates others’ rights or Discord’s rules

We may suspend or remove the Bot from Servers, revoke Pro access, or refuse service for violations or abuse.

6. Free and Pro plans

• Free — limited usage as shown in-product, which may include caps on live clocks, morning digests, alarms/reminders, events, and presets.
• Pro (sometimes marketed as “TimeZone Pro”) — paid unlock for a Discord Server (guild), when billing is configured (typically via Stripe). Pro raises those caps and may unlock multi-timezone digests and other premium features. Soft ceilings may still apply for stability and abuse prevention.
• Manual grants — an authorized operator may grant or revoke Pro for a Server without Stripe (for testing or support).

Exact limits, prices, and features are described in-product and may change. Taxes may apply. Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable once Pro is activated, except where Stripe dispute processes or our explicit written exception apply. Canceling a subscription stops future renewals; access continues until the end of the paid period unless otherwise stated.

7. Permissions

The Bot needs Discord permissions you grant at invite time (for example View Channels, Send Messages, Embed Links, Manage Channels for live voice clocks). If permissions are missing, features may fail. You can remove the Bot at any time.

8. Content and accuracy

Clock times rely on standard timezone databases and Discord/platform clocks; display updates are subject to Discord rate limits and may lag by several minutes. Weather and quotes in digests are provided “as is” from third parties or curated sources and may be wrong or unavailable. You are responsible for decisions you make based on the Service (including alarms and reminders).

9. Intellectual property

The Service, branding, and related materials are owned by Arcteligent or its licensors. You may not copy, resell, or rebrand the Bot without permission. “Discord” is a trademark of Discord Inc.; we are not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord.

10. Third-party services

The Service depends on Discord, cloud hosting providers, and optionally Stripe and weather APIs. Their outages or policy changes may affect availability. Your use of those services is also subject to their terms.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate operation.

12. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, Arcteligent AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR PRO IN THE 3 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Arcteligent harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the Service, your Server’s content/configuration, or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service and remove the Bot at any time. We may suspend or terminate access at any time for any reason, including maintenance, abuse, or legal risk. Provisions that should survive (liability limits, indemnity, IP) will survive termination.

15. Changes

We may modify these Terms by posting an updated version with a new effective date on https://arcteligentlabs.com/apps/time/terms. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by applicable law, excluding conflict-of-law rules, unless mandatory consumer protections in your country require otherwise. Where a venue must be chosen, disputes will be handled in a competent forum consistent with those rules. Nothing in these Terms requires publication of a personal name or residential address.
